As API Chapter Leader, you blend deep the technology disciplines and apply technology knowledge in API/Microservices, UI and Data.You are laser focused on providing value to our clients with efficient and innovative technology solutions. In an agile format and structure, you will partner with other leaders to establish the standards for your chapter, influence the strategic decisions and solution development based on your expertise and experience, and directly oversee a team of chapter members, who will primarily work within autonomous squads, but report and align to you. You are inspired to help them grow and develop in their area of expertise and ensure alignment on the “how” of the work they perform in squads. You are committed to maintaining and developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role and empower others with that knowledge. As a player/coach, you will spend fifty percent of your time working in a squad environment leveraging your area of expertise and helping to advance the work and using your experience to maximize squad performance for the overall business and our clients.

The Team

You will work in partnership with squad leaders supporting relevant API chapter(s). By role modeling and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you will create and sustain an innovative, agile culture.

The Expertise You Have
  • BS Degree required in Math, Computer Science or equivalent education
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in leading large, complex organizations
  • Ability to work in a very dynamic environment managing competing priorities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of essential technologies – Java, Oracle, Angular JS
  • Experience managing technology deliverables and application portfolios
  • Experience managing digital transformation & Agile transformations
  • Familiarity with Application Container concepts using tools like Docker
  • Experience in designing and implementing Microservices / APIs based architecture
  • Exposure to resiliency patterns like bulkheads, circuit breakers, fallbacks, and load shedding
  • Experience in implementation of API management using an API Gateway. Specifically, experience with Apigee is a plus.
  • Experience with Java, Spring, REST, XML/XSD/WSDL, JSON
  • Experience with encryption algorithms
  • Experience with test driven development.
  • Experience with relational databases and NoSQL datastores Experience leading, coaching, and developing people and teams
  • Experience in DevOps automation
  • Basic understanding of Web Technologies like Javascript, AngularJS, ReactJS, CSS, and HTML5
  • Experience with identifying talent needs; recruiting and onboarding; strategic resource planning and talent allocation within and across large organizations
  • Financial services experience preferred, but not required
  • Agile experience preferred, but not required

The Value You Deliver
  • Ensuring chapter composition aligns with business needs, including workforce planning (e.g., identify proficiency, expertise, and resource gaps, recruit, train, and/or hire) necessary to deliver value and results for clients and the business
  • Supporting and coaching chapter members as a leader and expert, to enable them to deliver more value in their squads
  • Enabling an agile and frictionless organization by role modeling agile behaviors
  • Proactively partnering with chapter area, tribe, center of excellence, and squad leaders to:
    • influence strategic decisions related to your area of expertise
    • measure performance through established KPIs and deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people results
    • allocate chapter members across squads to ensure best utilization of talent while also creating appropriate learning opportunities to develop talent
    • set and enforce standards and ensure the work performed is aligned with established road maps
    • remove impediments to deliver value
  • Actively sharing relevant insights, knowledge, industry best practices and developments within your area of expertise across the organization
  • Working with Chapter area and squad leaders to develop technology delivery plan, to drive consistency in use of platforms, reusability, and building of APIs to minimize duplication
  • Working with chapter and tribe leaders to ensure technology is effectively leveraged to support the firmwide vision. Specifically, be responsible for leading technology transformation, enabling the organization to effectively leverage technology to bring in efficiencies.
  • Enabling innovation and technology trends to create business value by tracking a broad range of emerging technologies to determine their maturity and applicability to the enterprise and meet the needs of its strategic plan
  • Execute autonomous delivery decisions with the alignment to the Chapter Area vision and strategy
