Our Global Research & Development (GRD) activities enable us to develop products efficiently and to systematically promote the exchange of knowledge and technology between regions. Our intention is to develop innovative products that are not only of the highest quality, but are also affordable so that caregivers and patients can benefit from them.


  • Serve as an intern in the Global Intellectual Property (GIP) department for one semester (Jan – May/June 2021) to support FME IP needs across the company

  • Support FME's mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy

  • Adhere to the FME Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and division/company policy requirements


  • Help with the creation of an internal, fully functional electronic IP manual providing information on IP practices and policies, including those for patents, trademarks and copyrights, within the company and with links to resources

  • Update company trademark database by uploading trademark related documents, docketing deadlines and completing record information

  • Prepare educational materials to be used for the internal training and guidance to various marketing groups of company trademark and copyright practice
  • Provide support for other IP department projects as they arise

  • Current Law Student


  • 1st/2nd year Law Student with interest in IP law

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Available Jan-May/June 2021, approximately 15-20 hrs. per week
