Position Specific Information Regular, Part Time Role: 20 hrs/week Shift: Tuesdays to Fridays, from 6:00am to 11:00am
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Responsible for assisting in the preparation and set up of laboratory tests.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under close supervision, acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making. Errors can be made easily and quickly detected and result in only minor disruption to correct.
Contacts are primarily within the immediate work unit. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.
Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
May refer to senior staff for assistance with day-to-day problems that may arise.
Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
Process incoming shipments of specimens, sorting tubes and operating sorting machines, distributing samples for testing
Dispose of blood samples and ice packs, archiving tubes, resolving pending issues and performing document imaging.
Getting supplies, loading instruments, maintaining robotic equipment
Other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma required
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
0 – 1 year's laboratory related experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical lab and specimen processing preferred.
Good verbal communication skills
Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
Ability to follow precise directions in situation requiring speed, accuracy and efficiency.
