The Associate Product Manager, is a member of a Steep Slope Product Management team within the Residential Steep Slope Business which includes GAFs shingles and accessories businesses. This position oversees all commercial aspects of their assigned product lines to optimize the product through analysis of and improvements upon positioning, price, marketing collateral, technical data, marketing campaigns and context within the competitive market. Additionally, the Associate Product Manager will support the Steep Slope Team with data acquisition, analysis and business case support as needed.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Product Management 50%
New Product Development- with and work cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, and sales to identify and execute new product introductions. Impactful new product introductions expected on an annual basis.
Identify opportunities to develop new products, streamline/reduce product offering, manufacturing, purchasing and distribution costs. Work closely with R&D, Operations and other functions for development, testing and production of new and existing products. Develop and support customer/contractor programs aligned with product development efforts.
Marketing Management- Support their Product Management Team Lead to develop a strategic marketing agenda; apply creativity and flair to realize agenda through promotions, literature and samples, advertising, and merchandising. Present information at trade shows, technical forums, to internal senior management etc. as necessary; help lead efforts and coordination for major trade shows.
Business Review and Optimization- identify and realize business improvements on enhancement of mix and profitability. Monitor technical competitive trends within the marketplace and identify opportunities for application within product categories.
Market Analysis and Support 50%
Conduct market research and publish articles on key business issues and strategic initiatives.
Screen new product and program ideas with market research, analysis and evaluations.
Help to create, manage or optimize marketing promotions and programs.
Provide support for our national and regional sales meetings.
Work cross functionally on a variety of teams that may include Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, IT Finance and more.
Assist Sr. Product Managers with existing products and programs including but not limited to brochure management, product launches, and general product management.
Complete trend and financial analysis; serve as point person for overarching industry trend documentation and analysis.
Serve as primary interface with marketing services team
Help design visual marketing story including PowerPoint's for NSMC, regional meetings, and other details.
Help manage distributor POP/display programs.
Assist social media team in enhancing the GAF brand on Facebook, twitter, and other social media outlets.

Bachelor's Degree mandatory; preferred degree in engineering, technical or business; MBA strongly preferred.
3-5+ years of experience in product management and/or a similar marketing field
Preferred experience in the building materials industry
