POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in making decisions regarding electrical/electronic projects, including process controllers, servo controllers, vision systems, robotics, manufacturing computer programming and maintenance details.  Makes detailed specifications for electrical installations, automation controls, and energy management policy.  Provide assistance to all departments for new process control equipment and electronic methods.  Assist the JH&SC in establishing safety criteria for powered components and application of related safety equipment to new and existing machinery.  Provide electrical controls project management support on new process development, new equipment builders, supplier/tool shop communications, and installations.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Applies electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, electrical testing, procedures, engineering, physics, computer software programming skills, program, troubleshoot, repair, and modify existing equipment, new developmental and production equipment control logic.  Provide engineering expertise to all departments requiring advice and/or practical help in solving any electrical or control problems.  Assist the maintenance department in establishing PM, PDM and TPM.  Act as an integral part of the Maintenance Technical Services group and assist process engineering providing manufacturing/assembly expertise.  Respond to the individual needs of plant personnel requesting help in a professional, courteous manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities
 
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. 
  • 442A Certificate or electrical engineering degree
  • 3 year college diploma with emphasis on electronics/electrical
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in electrical/electronic equipment design, robotics programming  and electrical maintenance service
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience   Allen Bradley Controls PLC programming, Wonderware System Platform 2012 experience, Kronos time management systems experience, and electrical construction experience preferred

 
REQUIRED SKILLS: 
  • Thorough knowledge of design, programming, and maintenance of electrical and production equipment, PLC’s, and computers
  • Communicate effectively both written and verbal with associates, peers, managers, and technical personnel
  • Good planner and organizer to be able to develop a comprehensive training program for maintenance and engineering personnel in electrical, PLC, and PC technology
  • Works with minimum supervision
  • High Level interpersonal and leadership skills; must be able to influence and coach across multiple levels within the company and locations; including establishing global partnerships
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
