Role Summary: The Compliance Process and Controls Leader is responsible for driving and coordinating critical compliance processes across regions; leading projects to simplify, streamline, and improve the effectiveness of critical compliance processes and controls; executing corrective actions arising from investigations and audit/monitoring findings on a global basis; leading key compliance initiatives and risk-assessed priorities; and driving critical operating mechanisms for the compliance function.
Essential Responsibilities: Primary Responsibilities: • Compliance processes: Coordinate critical compliance processes globally and across regions, including, but not limited to Compliance Review Boards, Compliance Risk Assessments, Internal Review Boards, and significant internal and external presentations of GEHC's compliance program. • Process and controls management and oversight: Serve as the global point of contact for Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (ABAC) and other key compliance processes and controls, e.g., dealer management processes and controls, and Improper Payments Prevention (IPP) processes and controls. Lead multiple, risk-prioritized projects to simplify, streamline, and improve the effectiveness of ABAC and other key processes and controls. Execute corrective actions arising from investigations and audits/monitoring findings on a global basis. Lead and drive “practice groups” for the dealer compliance and IPP communities globally. Establish processes to regularly review process and control framework for consistency with GE/GEHC policies and enterprise standards and applicable laws and regulations. • Corrective actions and process improvement: Execute corrective actions arising from investigations and audit/monitoring findings on a global basis. Incorporate learnings from investigations, monitoring and auditing activities into processes and controls framework. Apply Lean and Six Sigma approaches into compliance process improvement projects. • Compliance initiatives and risk-assessed priorities: Lead a range of compliance projects and initiatives based on risk-assessed priorities. • Operating mechanisms: Lead and coordinate operating mechanisms across the global compliance organization.
This individual must have a proven record of being thorough, fair, and objective with attention to detail, and timely and adapt easily to working in a diverse and multicultural work environment.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's degree, J.D./Masters degree preferred but not required. • A minimum of seven years of professional experience in compliance, law, controllership, or related field. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Strong leadership with experience in supporting a globally distributed team.
• Player/coach who is effective in executing both individual responsibilities and team responsibilities. • Word, Power Point and Excel skills are required. • Professional fluency in English is required. • Foreign language skills a plus.
Desired Characteristics: • Post-graduate degree in law, business or another relevant field. • CAS or other leadership program. • Knowledge of key laws/regulations (e.g., FCPA and other global ABAC laws/regulations, AKS/FCA) and/or core GEHC compliance processes, policies/procedures, tools, and controls. • Lean or Six Sigma experience. • Process and detail-oriented, including strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
