Role Summary: The Contracts Manager is an individual contributor that learns to develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In the role of Contracts Administrator, you will be responsible for work that is defined in scope, utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and have the ability to affect short term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities: The position of Contracts Manager requires a solid understanding of Firm Fixed Price Contracts and of Cost Reimbursement contracts, as described in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) for working with the US Government and prime contractors.

In addition, as Contracts Manager, you will:

  • Have a minimum of 4 years of contract formation and execution experience, which is necessary for this position
  • Act as primary interface between GE and assigned customers on all contractual matters
  • Provide contract administration for assigned proposals and contracts including regular contact with customers, leading negotiations, and assisting with contract interpretation
  • Interface with:
      • Manufacturing
      • Program Management
      • Finance
      • Sales
      • Engineering
      • Legal
      • and other Internal Functions
    Perform proposal, negotiation, and contract administration functions on assigned proposals / contracts with some supervision
  • Provide support to managers and senior contract personnel on assigned contracts
  • Perform team leader responsibilities for special projects, if required
  • Provide interface liaison with functional organizations and ensure proper communication of contractual requirements
  • Review processes to ensure overall efficiency

  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a contracts, sales, or legal role

  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Knowledge of contract law and regulations (FAR / DFARS)
  • Demonstrated ability to take lead role in routine contracts and negotiations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
