Role Summary: The CCS Digital Chicago Ldr has responsibility for the CCS Digital engineering organization in Chicago, including local development efforts, resourcing, and connection with the global organization. The incumbent will drive business deliverables and technology direction for CPN Core, Connect and Web product lines and scrum teams of Perinatal Surveillance from USA. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Engineering, CCS Digital and will drive overall talent development strategies at the site.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Setting the strategy and direction of the business and driving continuous improvement of engineering systems, products and processes
  • Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring
  • Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount and base cost budget
  • Collaborating with the global team to ensure best practices are adopted, shared and used effectively
  • Collaborate with peers in CCS Digital on structure, tools, processes, NPI Execution and other initiatives
  • Participate and engage actively on technology roadmaps and planning , drive realization within India product teams
  • Serves as the primary Site POC for the global leadership team
  • Promotes and builds operating mechanisms to engage the local team with the global teams
  • Works with site functional managers and global functional managers to identify and remove obstacles to local and global operational effectiveness
  • Energizes the team for strong engagement on programs. Translates and communicate program strategies, ensure effective program leadership.
  • Drives timely resolution of operational Issues, working with the appropriate leaders
  • Drives simplification initiatives at the site
  • Stewardship of agile and extreme programming practices. Challenge the status-quo, keep high standards for quality and customer satisfaction

    Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
  • Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 10 years relevant work experience
  • 5 years of leading a team – building strategy, technology management & people leadership experience
  • Domain in healthcare product development
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Masters or PhD in Engineering
  • 15 years relevant industrial experience
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated project leadership and/or people management skills
  • Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others
  • Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Exposure to BDD/ TDD practices

  • Exposure in Enterprise Architecture, architecture / design patterns

  • Exposure in Cloud / Fog computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Experience in Healthcare domain
  • Enthusiastically follow technology trends, software engineering best practice and technologies while enjoying the challenge of solving complex problems
