Role Summary: The Non - Destructive Test (NDT) Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for the sustainment and improvement of the NDE process. The person in this position will explore, document, and put out new methods on the automation style machines. This individual will also help to build a justification to acquire more automation equipment for the site.
Essential Responsibilities:

As the Non - Destructive Test (NDE) Manufacturing Specialist, you will:

  • Compute tomography, equipment and processes, and will include additional modalities over time
  • Define and control production process including tooling, automation & equipment
  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment
  • Achieve a minimum of Level II certification in particular modality supported
  • Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent and Lead Process engineers
  • Give guidance on the planning of activities and explanations on technical issues
  • Communicate with direct team and supervisor
  • Present to internal teams on metrics, project status and research
  • Support shop floor to deliver business results while encouraging input from area personnel working within a self-directed workforce (Teaming) environment
  • Participate in the development of mid and long term plans outlining projects to support the business in meeting its objectives with a strong focus on cost, part quality and cycle time
  • Design and implement manufacturing processes and systems for control
  • Promote internal and external customer satisfaction and develop positive relationships
  • Plan and implement NDE Process activities for new product development and current product support
  • Determine safe manufacturing processes that produce a quality product in the most efficient method of manufacture
  • Investigate and apply new technology in support of site growth plans
  • Assist Team Leaders and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action
  • Pursue continuous improvement for quality and cost reductions in designated area to achieve quarterly and annual business unit goals
  • Act as change agent, understanding and moving the operation toward benchmarked, best in class performance


  • Associate's Degree from an accredited school or institution with a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience

  • Previous aerospace product experience in manufacturing
  • Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to make data driven decisions and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools
  • Knowledge of safety agency regulations
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and bring to successful results
  • Knowledge of ISO / quality procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
