Description

The Trade & Sales Planning Manager will lead the sales planning and trade promotion management activities within the sales organization. In this new position, the Trade Planning Manager will facilitate profitable sales growth by ensuring trade promotions return maximum ROI. This manager will partner with Sales Finance to manage all annual customer planning activities, developing the tools, process and resources to enable a detailed assessment of volume, revenue, spend and profit at key planning milestones.

Coordinate Annual Customer Planning Activities

  • · Assist with reconciling gap between:

o Bottom-up plan and budget by coordinating company gap-fill activities

o Monthly Director's Call and system forecast

  • · Prepare content development for annual Sales Plan Dialogue meeting
  • · Improve capture of holistic customer investment in planning activities

Manage Sales Trade Spending Activities

  • · Track accrual and incremental trade deployed to balance sales spending to budget at national and key customer level
  • · Track and enforce trade promotion policies
  • · Assist in evaluating ROI of incremental trade spending proposals
  • · Project sales trade spend liability at key financial milestones (LE, Budget, Full Year Results)

Develop and implement practices to drive higher Trade Spend ROI

  • · Provide supporting analytics to evaluate and determine highest ROI promotional strategies
  • · Implement timeline to deploy customer investment earlier in sales planning cycle
  • · Execute post-event evaluation, to include synthesizing company financials with market consumption
  • · Create tighter connection between incremental trade investments and volume commitment

  • · Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel)

Education and Work Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree Required
  • 3-5 years of analytical experience
  • 3-5 years working within Sales Reporting and Trade Systems
  • Preferred experience implementing and optimizing trade promotion management and/or optimization software
  • Preferred experience in CPG industry
