This position is responsible for directing new sales activities through staff, consultants and brokers for the large/national business segment (150-10,000). This position is responsible for the attainment of goals and objectives, developing strategies, oversight of budgeting, and developing effective operations. Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight stays. Responsibilities include: • Responsible for the achievement of sales goals and objectives in the attainment of new profitable business and the sale of additional new product lines for large/national business segment (150-10,000). • Develop and execute marketing strategies to obtain new accounts through contacts with accounts, consultants, and brokerage firms and other Blue Plans. Develop sales forecasts and monitor sales activity to ensure goals are met. • Establish and build relationships with decision-makers of key prospects and position BCBSTX for future sales. • Ensure successful acquisitions and implementation support in new clients through collaboration with management in Actuarial, Underwriting, SSD, HCM, and other divisions. • Coordinates project, service, and pricing negotiations and responsible for all brokerage and consultant business. • Maintain extensive knowledge of HCSC products, services, systems, and processes. • Maintain knowledge of competitor's products and insurance trends. Please note, this is a HYBRID role which requires in-office hours 3x week at the respective office location.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree OR 4 years' experience in selling or account management of managed care products.
Current, valid State Agent Insurance License.
8 years' experience in managed care insurance sales.
3 years of management experience in a managed care environment in account management or sales.
Experience managing a book of business for profitability.
Leadership and mentoring experience and skills.
Knowledge and experience in marketing and sales techniques.
Sales/marketing strategy development experience.
Thorough knowledge of managed care products, processes, and trends.
Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
Experience in addressing customer needs and making business decisions.
Experience building strong customer relations.
Negotiation, presentation and financial skills.
Verbal and written communications, including business writing.
Overseeing the annual budget and allocating resources for various projects and operational needs.
Translating needs and initiatives into compelling business cases.
Conducting cost-benefit analyses to justify investments and ensure ROI.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
