Highland Hospital is seeking a full time Infection Preventionist to join it's team.Together with the Director of Infection Prevention, the IP will assist with all activities related to the prevention and control of health care associated infections.  The IP will be responsible for developing standards of care which reduce the risk of health care associated infections in patients and personnel.  The IP will serve as a leader, a consultant, educator, researcher, and change agent.  The IP will incorporate the principles of total quality improvement and the Highland Promise in all that he/she does to promote the highest quality health care at the lowest cost.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

1. Education: BS or MS preferred.  Training from the CDC or Association of Practitioners in Infection Control (APIC) and CIC certification highly desirable. 
2. Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of nursing practice or equivalent healthcare experience, previous experience in Infection Prevention a plus.
3. License/Certification Required: Current Nursing License in New York State or equivalent certification preferred.
4. Skills: Computer experience (e-mail, spreadsheets).
