Under the direct supervision of the unit leadership team, helps to provide a plan of care that increases safe mobility, promoting the highest level of functioning for our patients. The Patient Mobility Specialist, under the direction of nursing, with frequent interaction and training by Physical Therapy/Rehab, facilitates patient mobility and ambulation by 1-walking patients, 2-transferring patient bed to chair 3-repositioning patients 4-performing range of motion. The Mobility Specialist utilizes patient handling equipment, transfer devices, and protective equipment in accordance with guidelines and vendor specification. Candidate must possess good communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work as a member of the health care team.
Education: GED or High School Diploma required. Fulfills the educational requirements to be certified in Safe Patient Handling within 12 months of hire. Experience: Acute care or long-term care experience as a Patient Care Technician, CNA or LPN preferred. License/Certification Required: Safe Patient Handling Certification within 12 months of hire/transfer to position.
