HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the SPED/Distributed Engineering team.  As a Temporary Design Engineer II, you will have the opportunity to under regular supervision and utilize established standards and procedures, perform assignments requiring basic education of engineering fundamentals.  Designs new products or makes improvements to existing product. Works on cost of componentry, systems and phases of intermediate size projects, or responsible for support functions for internal or external Engineering Department interfaces.

Key accountabilities include: 

  • Design or test components or systems. Reviews RR/SPOT/VIP's and Development Logs. May assists in implementation of new product release and product changes.  Model parts in 3-D

  • Select materials and processes with assistance from  HYG Engineering Product Development Teams.

  • Prepare/release engineering change notices or support Plant organization on product quality and UL certification.

  • Execute (Elementary) design decisions

  • Generate solutions to routine problems

  • Track man hour requirements for assignments

  • Generate drawing and BOM arrangements

  • Design concepts

  • Consider assembly manpower requirement

  • Policy/procedure change

  • Pre-production parts requirements

  • Create  quality and cost solutions

Minimum qualifications: 

  • A. S. or B.S. Degree – (preference Mechanical / Electrical Engineering)

  • 1-3 years of experience (preference around an metal fabrication and assembly plant)

  • HYG products and its application

  • CAD/CAM experience

  • Experience in Manufacturing Environments

  • Microsoft Products  including: Word, Excel, Power Point
