Full-time Physician Assistant opportunity in a well-established ID private practice in Newark, DE. Our 4 MD/3 PA thriving practice is strongly affiliated with Christiana Care Health System, a 1,200-bed medical system. Level I Trauma Center and Transplant Center, a U.S. News & World Report, and Truven® top hospital ranking 21st in admissions nationally.

Duties:

• Collaborate with physicians to identify, diagnose, and treat infectious disease issues; team-centered approach.
• Assess patient health and determine abnormal conditions by interviewing patients to obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order diagnostic labs and testing.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient records: inpatient and outpatient.
• Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens; promote wellness and health maintenance.
• Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
• Maintain a clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements and enforce adherence to requirements.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
• Work with a physician one out of four weekends for inpatient rounds.

Qualifications:

• Completion or near completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
• NCCPA Board-certified or board-eligible, new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Able to complete the licensing requirements in the State of Delaware
• Adherence to the principles and ethical standards of medical practice
• Interest in specializing in Infectious Diseases
