Your role in helping us shape the future:

The Senior Accountant, International will lead all aspects of operational accounting and governance compliance at entity and country level for the Commercial Aviation business of Intelsat.  You will effectively act as the subsidiary level subject matter expert for the assigned entities internationally.  To accomplish your tasks, you will be working closely with the revenue team, fixed asset team, the tax team, HR, and Accounts Payable, as required.  You will also supervise all outsourced accounting services for the assigned entities. Your success will be measured not only based on the accuracy of the work results but also the efficiencies you would create.

Are you up to the challenge?

• Lead the accounting functions for the assigned Inflight International subsidiaries, including A/R, A/P, Fixed Asset, Lease schedules, local expenses, payroll, bank reconciliation, and GL account reconciliations
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for the operations
• Review and approval of local/statutory accounting reports
• Lead all local annual audit requirements for assigned international subsidiaries and supports the domestic (US) audits
• Build financial reports / dashboards for international subsidiaries
• Prepare financial forecast for both tax department and for auditors
• Reconcile statutory accounting records with US GAAP data on NAV
• Collaborate with other teams, functions, and data owners across the company to align on process and data issues and to ensure any required changes to policies, procedures, and processes are implemented
• Perform special projects and related duties and responsibilities as assigned

You should definitely have:

• B.A. degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience required
• Four to six years of experience in accounting/auditing
• High proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Work experience with NAV accounting system, preferred
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and preferably IFRS
• Possess problem solving skills and the ability to operate in a fast pace, high-intensity work environment
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, a variety of outside working partners
• Effective communicator with the ability to translate technical information to all levels of staff and stakeholders both in written form and verbally
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills required

It would be nice if you had:

• CPA or MSA
• Public Accounting and SOX experience
• Experience in a multi-divisional, multi-location and multi-currency high-growth environment
• Experience working with international entities
• Multilingual is a plus
