The Johns Hopkins Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking full time Sr. Physician Assistants. These positions are available immediately for emergency medicine-trained, certified PAs seeking to build a career at a world-renowned academic center where you will be able to work in our new state-of-the-art emergency department.
The Johns Hopkins Emergency Department is a 70,000 annual visit, full service adult ED, Level I trauma center, and the state pediatric trauma center. Physician Assistants (PA) are responsible for complex, standardized patient care otherwise be performed by a physician that requires experience and specialized training. You will be working directly under some of the leading emergency physicians in the United States, as well as along side the Emergency Medicine residents in our training program. PAs perform medical screening exams, comprehensive history and physicals assessing chief compliant, presenting signs and symptoms, past medical & interval history, as well as order & interpret diagnostics, consultations, and treatments. PAs initiate basic & advanced life support in response to emergency situations as they staff all venues of the emergency department including the main department, observation unit, rapid assessment area and supertrack.
- BS or BA degree
- Certification by NCCPA
- Completion of a CAAHEP certified Physician Assistant program
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the State of Maryland
- Three years of Emergency Medicine experience
