Shipping, Receiving & Technical Support Technician
Location: 1400 Federal Blvd., Carteret, NJ (Onsite)
Schedule: 2pm–10pm ET, Weekend and Weekday Shifts Required
Pay rate: $28,84
Contract duration: 6 months
Contract type: W2 under Staffing Supplier
Join NASDAQ's Data Center Operations team as a Shipping, Receiving, and Technical Support Technician. In this hands-on position, you'll play a key role supporting critical weekend operations, alleviating pressure on rotating staff, and delivering on NASDAQ's commitment to year-round coverage and reliability.
- Receiving & Verification: Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against invoices, and update inventory systems with precise records.
- Inventory Management: Organize and manage physical and digital storage areas; conduct inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Shipping & Dispatch: Prepare outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery.
- Vendor Coordination: Work directly with NASDAQ vendors, managing RMA orders and supporting planning efforts.
- Customer Communication: Serve as a point of contact at the Data Center Operations desk, handling calls from both internal and external clients and resolving delivery issues.
- Experience in a data center or logistics environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical capability to lift, move, and store items as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Network Support: Assist network operations engineers with the operation of public/private networks, including IP and WAN environments.
- System Maintenance: Install, monitor, maintain, upgrade, and support network communication systems.
- Troubleshooting: Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of electronic/mechanical equipment using schematics, diagrams, and established procedures.
- Technical Data Management: Collect and format technical data, following established formulas and procedures.
- Asset Management: Procure and distribute technology assets in compliance with standardized protocols.
- End-User Support: Develop rapport with customers, resolving issues and ensuring needs are met.
- Associate Degree or Certificate in Computer Science, MIS, or a related discipline; or equivalent direct work experience in Data Center, Network, or Computer Operations.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience; certifications not required but welcomed.
- Functional proficiency developed through job-related training and experience.
- Ability to work independently within established processes and procedures.
- Informal leadership: willingness to support and mentor colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective interpersonal communication; able to convey information and seek clarifications as needed.
- Strong planning and coordination skills; prioritizes work for timely completion.
