Kelly is seeking a New Product Development Project Specialist to work with our client, a global consumer product manufacturer, on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team that brings products to life, ensuring every operational and supply chain piece comes together smoothly and on time.
The New Product Development Project Specialist will:
- Lead new product launches through the stage gate process, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables to get products successfully to market
- Own the end-to-end operational readiness of each project, including bill of materials setup, cost validation, supply planning, and production trials
- Coordinate across functions (packaging, R&D, marketing, supply chain, quality, procurement) to keep everyone aligned and moving toward key launch milestones
- Identify and resolve issues early, driving decisions and adjustments to keep launches on track for timing, cost, and quality
- Apply supply chain best practices around minimum order quantities, inventory builds, and excess/obsolete reduction to optimize launch execution
- Support lifecycle management, helping phase in new SKUs and phase out discontinued ones while maintaining smooth market transitions
- Ensure compliance with GMP and company policies throughout the launch process
- Prior experience in supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, or operations — ideally within a consumer products or similar fast-moving industry
- Experience managing or coordinating cross-functional projects from development through production or launch
- Experience in the beauty or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is a plus, but not required
- PMP certification or formal project management training is a plus
- Strong project management skills — able to juggle multiple launches and stay on top of details, timelines, and deliverables
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Highly organized and proactive, with a problem-solving mindset and the confidence to raise issues early and drive decisions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, visible role where priorities can shift quickly
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with MS Project is a plus
- SAP or other ERP experience is helpful but not required
