Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Control Technician near Bridgeview, IL.

Contract to Hire
Shift:
Monday - Thursday 5:15am -4pm
Compensation: $22/hr 

Position Summary:
This entry-level position is responsible for performing tasks related to the evaluation and approval or rejection of incoming materials and manufactured products according to system specifications and customer requirements. The role is expected to adhere to all safety protocols and provide support to receiving, production, warehousing, shipping, and customer service functions as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure cost sheets and quality control standard samples for all scheduled products at shift startup.
  • Verify accuracy of preprinted and labeled cartons in accordance with cost sheet specifications before production.
  • Confirm labels are correct and current per issue/revision; resolve any discrepancies using the Label Standard File.
  • Inspect and record results for incoming production components.
  • Perform required start-up and hourly line checks, approve materials, and notify relevant personnel of any non-conforming results.
  • Conduct product-specific tests, including spray rate and pressure evaluations at specified intervals.
  • Take and verify retain samples against the quality control standard sample.
  • Record inspection results in SAP QM inspection lots.
  • Check chemical purity as required.
  • Ensure compliance with timing requirements as per cost sheet.
  • Audit finished pallets and cartons for cleanliness, labeling, component accuracy, seal integrity, and correct printing/coding, following Mil. Std. 105-D.
  • Evaluate pallet size, stacking pattern, packaging appearance, integrity, and labeling.
  • Verify correct inventory tag completion and ensure final products comply with required standards.
  • Approve finished products by affixing QC stickers to inventory tags.
  • Prepare and submit any required customer documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of weights and measures and perform related calculations.
  • Complete documentation and record-keeping requirements.
  • Report defects, deficiencies, or quality issues promptly to supervisors.
  • Exercise authority to stop production in the event of out-of-control or substandard output until corrective action is taken.
  • Lift and handle various components and finished goods up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all company safety rules.
  • Support other inspectors and perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Read, write, and comprehend English as required for role responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
  • Strong math computation skills and attention to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively.
  • Capable of standing for 8–12 hours per shift.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
  • Problem-solving and effective communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
