Tooling Inspector
Bridgeport, WV
Mon – Fri 8am – 5pm

Job Overview & Responsibilities:
This position will be working in the site's tooling inspection department. The employees' primary responsibilities will consist of inspecting equipment and tooling used in the disassembly, inspection, assembly, and test of jet engine repair and overhaul operations.
 

  • Work in an organized and professional manner and required to maintain inspection records to FAA standards.
  • Ensure the safety of his or herself, and that of their fellow employees.
  • Support QA investigations into “cost of poor quality” incidents, and support troubleshooting of shop gages and tooling as needed by operations.
  • May be required to operate and maintain specialized measurement equipment such as CMM's (including program creation) and optical comparators.
  • Proficient in the use of hand measurement equipment such as gage blocks, depth gages, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • This role will also support minor tooling repairs as part of interdepartmental cross-training requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma + 5 years' relevant industry experience or 2-year technical degree + 3 years relevant industry experience.
  • Prior experience with basic measurement hand tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.).
  • Prior experience reading/interpreting mechanical blueprints.
  • Basic computer literacy plus proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must work well in a professional environment as part of a cross functional team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with operation of Hexagon or Mitutoya CMM machines.
  • Experience with Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
