Key Human Services, Inc. creates opportunities for men, women and children with disabilities to grow and make meaningful life choices and provides assistance in finding home, health, friends, work and a presence in their communities.  Key Human Services is seeking Program Directors to join our team of professionals in making a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors and the community.

The Program Director is responsible for management of daily operations of one or more Community Living Arrangement residential home(s) and supervision of program staff.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create a healthy, engaging, typical home for people with intellectual disabilities
  • Supervise all aspects of program operations including the physical site, staff, and individuals supported
  • Provide leadership within the program, assuring high quality services are provided and consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Key Human Services
  • Assist with the coordination, writing and implementation of Individual Support Plans to meet the needs of the people supported, including care and services from other agencies
  • Hire, manage and mentor program staff including scheduling, timesheets, performance, and training
  • Collect and analyze quality data for use in program and through the organization
  • Provide direct care and coverage when needed with on-call responsibilities for emergency situations
  • Timely and accurately submit all fiscal, personnel, and programmatic paperwork;
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings, appointments, conferences, agency events, etc.
  • Ensure compliance of relevant regulations, policies, and procedure to maintain licensure and quality assurance goals
  • Support individuals to become independent, make decisions, and live a meaningful dignified life with valued social roles (ex: friend, neighbor, student, employee)

Position Details:

  • $500 Sign On Bonus eligible per incentive guidelines
  • Pay rate is $24.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; College degree is preferred (degrees and/or credits earned outside of the United States must be evaluated for equivalency)
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license with a five year clean driving history
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work/education experience in human services, including at least 1 year of management/supervisory experience
  • Reliable vehicle with valid automobile insurance
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including motor vehicle record and criminal background checks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification and Medication Administration certification preferred
  • Demonstrated reliable and consistent work history
  • Serve as a program liaison to DDS, family, friends and guardians of those served in the program
  • Effectively involve people using services, their families, relevant others and staff in planning and decision making
  • Attend/chair regular program staff meetings
  • Attend Management staff meetings
  • Assist individuals in securing a place to live, and ascertain that each residence is properly maintained, and has adequate furnishings
