Hours:10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Every Other Weekend Job Summary
Work under the direction and supervision of the RN or LPN. Provide a broad variety of care for a group of residents. This may include delegated components of the resident plan of care including: the assessment and discharge process, basic resident education, treatments, procedures, diagnostic modalities, activities of daily living, dietary assistance and documentation of observations and care provided.• Access and follow necessary care information for each resident to include, but not limited to: check vital signs, basic respiratory care, bathing/hygiene, dressing, grooming, transfers, ambulation, range-of-motion, positioning, toileting, feeding, reporting of physical or mental changes, fall prevention, and maintenance of resident safety.. • Establish and maintain open and positive communication in all aspects of job performance. • Assist with collection of data necessary for admissions and discharges, obtain and apply necessary equipment, labels clothing, educate resident and family of unit routine and provide resident transport as needed. • Clean and maintain resident care areas and equipment according to unit routine. This may include cleaning beds, carts, floors, wheelchairs, walls, bathrooms, furniture, lights and phones. Notify appropriate personnel of defective equipment or any other observed safety problems. • Answer patient call lights within five minutes and responds to resident's needs in a timely manner. Arrange for another associate to provide assistance if unavailable. • Participate in economical utilization of supplies. • Perform other duties as assigned and needed. These duties may vary depending upon the unit, patient type and need, number and complexity of treatments provided, prior training and experience. Additional duties may also include non-clinical duties consistent with meeting the needs the needs of the patient and care team. • Participate in mandatory annual in-services, certification, committees, and educational programs for improvement of self to maintain competency. • Maintain patient rights, safety, privacy, confidentiality. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service. • Abilities: Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
• Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to fumes, dust, gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases.
