As needed Job Summary

Perform computerized tomography (CT) procedures. Assume responsibility and maintain the general care and safety of patients during CT scans.

Must be certified and registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).  Must have advanced ARRT certification and registration in Computed Tomography at time of hire, or within a defined time period established by Lakeland if not CT certified/registered at time of hire.

• Perform a wide range of CT procedures utilizing a multislice scanner. • Perform post-processing of scans per protocol. • Administer intravascular contrast media per protocol using a power injector. • Apply principles of radiation safety and practices ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable). • Utilize Picture Arching and Communication System (PACS). • Assist physicians in performing CT guided interventional procedures. • Perform clerical functions related to patient chart documentation. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service. Possesses analytical skills necessary to resolve issues as they pertain to equipment and workflow. Must have complete understanding of cross-sectional anatomy. Must be able to start an IV to administer intravascular contrast media.
Basic computer, data entry, typing, filing and organization skills required.
• Abilities: Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
• Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to fumes, dust, gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases.
