Hours:7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., rotating weekends & holidays Job Summary
Provide a broad variety of care for a group of patients under the direction and supervision of the RN or physician. This may include delegated components of, the assessment and discharge process, basic patient education, unit specific treatments/procedures and diagnostic modalities, activities of daily living and dietary assistance.• Provide appropriate skill level to perform interventions/procedures as directed. See unit-specific skill lists. • Participate in economical utilization of supplies, utilities and equipment. • Demonstrate knowledge and performance of clinical competency which may include: vital signs, basic respiratory care such as incentive spirometry and oxygen setup, pulse oximetry and patient transportation. • Establish and maintain open and positive communications in all aspects of job performance. • Assist with the admission and discharge process by collecting selected data and specimens, applying necessary equipment, labeling patient clothes and belongings, informing patient/family of unit routines and transports patient as necessary. • Answer patient call lights and responds to patient request/need in a timely manner. Communicate clinical needs to the appropriate clinical staff. • Maintain a commitment to career growth and development by participation in mandatory annual in-services, certification, Lakeland Regional Health System committees, and educational programs for improvement of self to maintain competency. • Perform other duties as assigned and needed. These duties may vary depending upon the unit, patient type and need, number and complexity of treatments provided, prior training and experience, etc. Additional duties may also include non-clinical duties consistent with meeting the needs of the patient and care team. • Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service. • Abilities: Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
• Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to fumes, dust, gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases.
