Hours:7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the manager, the respiratory care practitioner (CRT/RRT) will assess, treat and administer respiratory care to patients. Collects data relevant to pulmonary patient care and initiates appropriate respiratory care protocols. Actively participates in planning and implementation of patient and staff education. Maintains patient records. Select, clean, assemble, check and operate respiratory equipment.• Deliver respiratory procedures as prescribed by physicians. • Record all pertinent information on respiratory care rendered. • Document all pertinent information on respiratory care rendered. • Ensure the patency on airway and adequate ventilation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. • Set up, operate, and monitor ventilators at the order of a physician. • Set up, operate, and monitor respiratory monitoring equipment. • Process respiratory equipment for sterilization and provides necessary preventive maintenance. • Contribute to the effective communication needs of the patient care team. • Maintain commitment to professional growth and competency. • Contribute to the productivity of the department and proper coverage as assigned by management, i.e., facility assignment, unit assignment, schedule, call, etc. • Non patient care duties. • Follow all policies and procedures of the department, including the blood gas laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records. of patient results. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service. Education:High School or GED (Required)
Certifications:*Respiratory Therapist Certification - NBRC, *Respiratory Therapist License - State of Michigan, BCLS Certification - AHA, Neonatal Resuscitation Program - AHA
