Variable Job Summary

Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures. Assume responsibility and maintains the general care and safety of patients during ultrasound procedures.

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures including vascular studies in the ultrasound department, in surgery and the Emergency Department, and at the patient's bedside • Assist physicians in performing ultrasound-guided procedures. • Operate real time and other ultrasound equipment and endocavitary probe cleaning station. • Corroborate patient's clinical history with requested procedure, ensuring information is documented and available. • May perform exam post-processing. • Perform clerical duties related to patient chart documentation and scanning documents into PACS. • Utilize the Picture and Archiving Communication System (PACS). • Maintain professional effective working relationships with physicians and co-workers to provide optimal quality of patient care. • Responsible for assigned call. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service. • Abilities: Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
• Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to fumes, dust, gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases.
