East Chicago Urban Enterprise Academy (ECUEA) is a public CHARTER school servicing K-8th grade students in Northwest Indiana. Applicants must be creative, have high energy, have excellent classroom management skills, be performance driven and know how to use data to drive instruction.

Must qualify to be appropriately licensed by the State of Indiana to teach at the elementary school level.
An expanded criminal history background check will be conducted.
The candidate must demonstrate effective organizational, interpersonal, leadership, verbal, and written skills.
The teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with ECUEA/TLG policy. We are looking for a teacher who has a genuine LOVE for children and learning. The teacher must be able to engage students in meaningful and creative lessons.

A highly-qualified candidate:

Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the creative process.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group and program classification.
Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and schools.
Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, collaborating with colleagues.
