LS&Co. is looking for an industry proven Engineering Leader for develop and improvement of our fulfillment centers. You have prior engineering experience in integrated automation project life cycles, including their development. You directly manage the development of large capital automation projects with a cumulative spend greater than $10MM.

Our Engineers must be agile with the ability to quickly adapt strategies, plans and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. They also must be comfortable working and driving multiple teams and individuals at all levels . Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Baseline Goal: Achieve $300k per year in operational fulfillment savings through continuous process improvement programs.
  • Lead our Global Engineering Team's delivery roadmap and tracking through delivery and stabilization.
  • Identify and lead process improvement programs to support operations teams.
  • Apply complete knowledge of industrial engineering process improvement strategies and lean techniques (e.g. Method analysis, work combination charts, ergonomics, visual controls, safety, 5S, Kanban, poka yoke) to coordinate overall deployment operations.
  • Support Kaizen and Safety events.
  • Detailed knowledge of operations with understanding of daily workings and operations planning.
  • Perform and direct data mining and analyze the results to provide recommendations or conclusions.
  • Inspect facilities following corporate standards and procedures relating to material handling, processing and storage.
  • Develop order fulfillment infrastructure throughout our large-scale fulfillment network.
  • Manage integrated automation projects with system elements such as automated storage and retrieval, high-speed sortation, conveyance, and print-and-apply.
  • Typical project installation values range from less than $1MM to greater than $5MM.
  • Manage on-site vendors through their leads and escalate issues through vendor and LS&Co. leadership.
  • Direct system commissioning and predefined testing activities, including administering the plan, interpreting statuses and reporting results.
  • Coordinate with local site management to ensure operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance and safety practices are followed for all equipment.
  • Evaluate issues and propose relevant resolutions to design problems.
  • Identify needs for design improvements.
  • Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality with vendors or subcontractors.
  • Lead design efforts between our teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout.
  • Develop budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing.
  • Lead system commissioning and predefined testing activities, including administering the plan, interpreting statuses and reporting results.
  • Coordinate with local site management to ensure operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance and safety practices are followed for all equipment.
  • Thoroughly document/investigate change requests and provide recommendations.
  • Build relationships with leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites.
  • Develop cross-knowledge of Startup team processes.
  • Travel up to 75%

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • design and implementation with integrated automation solutions, such as complex material handling systems, high speed packaging lines and manufacturing lines.
  • Proficient in CAD skills.
  • Experience in Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing efforts, transportation/logistics and fulfillment/distribution centers.
