Description

Background:  LSC Communications was recently purchased by the private equity firm Atlas Partners.  The Book business unit is thrilled to start a new journey as a separate stand-alone company soon to be rebranded “Lakeside Book Company”.

In this newly created role of HR Director – Compensation & HR Operations you will partner with our CHRO and HR team over the next several months to support the transition of various compensation, HRIS and other HR processes from shared services to Lakeside Book Company.  Over the longer term, you'll assess and improve our programs to enable us to attract and retain high caliber talent, while working to ensure we are operating efficiently to deliver services in a cost-effective manner.

This role will evolve over the next few years so we're looking for a multi-skilled, well-rounded Total Rewards leader with the ability to look at everything we do with a fresh and objective approach, a desire to achieve excellence, and comfortable taking on new challenges as we refine our HR organization.

Here's what you'll do:

Compensation (50%)

  • Lead the development, implementation and administration of competitive compensation program and polices
  • Manage common compensation tasks including survey participation, job evaluation, hourly and salary structure development, incentive plan design and associated analysis
  • Partner with sales leaders on the development and execution of sales incentive programs
  • Serve as a compensation subject matter expert to our HR team and managers in all areas of compensation
  • Own the annual merit and bonus cycles
  • Develop materials to support Board meeting topics

HRIS & Support Services (40%)

  • Play a lead role in the assessment and implementation of a simplified HRIS platform
  • Lead the stabilization and continuous improvement of our HRIS platform including ownership for new modules
  • Create processes and standards to optimize cost and service delivery of transactional HR processes
  • Ensure that HR operations including services provided by outsourced providers are reliable and cost-effective

Qualifications & Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 15+ years of broad compensation, HRIS, payroll and benefits experience
  • Demonstrated success in linking total rewards strategies and business results
  • Manufacturing environment highly desirable
  • Experience with mid-market HRIS implementation highly desirable
  • Relevant professional certifications (eg. CCP or equivalent)

Location: This position is eligible for full time Remote work or may be based at any of our US manufacturing facilities.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 commensurate with expereince and location
