Inpatient Physiatry Medical Director

We are seeking an enthusiastic BC/BE Physiatrist with experience or strong interest in Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation with great clinical and interpersonal skills to join our dedicated team of professionals in beautiful Kennebec Valley, Augusta Maine.

Overview:

• Medical Director Opportunity
• State of the art 12 bed hospital based Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
• Stroke Rehabilitation Certification through the Joint Commission
• Join a team of 3 Physiatrists and 4 NPs under the supervision of Medical Director of Physiatry.
• Weekend call schedule on rotation with other Physiatrists.
• Call schedule 1:4. Home call, with occasional weekend admissions
• Hospitalist and specialist support
• Expansive diagnostic services
• Acute Stroke Ready Hospital Joint Commission Certification
• Primary inpatient position with outpatient follow ups for continuity of care, and procedural opportunities
• Opportunities for medical student/resident education
• Collegial team with excellent patient support infrastructure
• High earning potential

Job Qualifications:

• BC/BE Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
• Special interest in Neuro rehabilitation preferred
• Patient centered commitment to excellence
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Inpatient Physiatry experience preferred

Our rehab unit has 12 private rooms, lift systems in each room, one bariatric room, telemetry ready, horticulture program and mobility garden, and specialty programs. Our most common diagnosis include: stroke, neurological disorders, Hip FX, amputation, SCI, deconditioning, multi-trauma, and BI.
