The Area Supervisor is an exempt role that is regionally based and primarily focused on supporting the expansion and growth of our ultra-fast delivery business. As we grow, we will build efficient and scalable processes to create a best-in-class operation. In order to do their jobs effectively, the Area Supervisor must have excellent client/customer service skills, ability to identify, hire, train and manage talent and the ability to lead and develop others. This position will be responsible for managing both full and part time shoppers.
Essential Functions: • Manages all aspects of in-store execution within assigned market, including but not limited to, staffing of retail locations, retail shift scheduling & hours completion, call report compliance, and active customer engagement • Establishes and maintains critical relationships with client, retail partners, and program leadership • Ensures and promotes strong relationships with the field team and program leadership to ensure communication continuity and adoption of all directives • Manages and delivers required productivity and customer experience through performance management and engagement via one-on-one coaching • Ensures employee satisfaction through progressive employee engagement • Manages attrition through key performance indicators • Manages performance in market to achieve all service objectives
Supervisory or Management Responsibility/Decision Making Level: • Works collaboratively with field leadership to achieve all client and program objectives • Communicates and executes launch of projects and initiatives • Participates in and delivers regular program leadership meetings • Provides regular reports to program leadership • Participates in and completes all required face to face training and ensures all employees in market are fully trained at all times • Provides feedback on current performance, derives plan of action for future progress, and ensures execution to that plan • Provides responsibility for distribution, tracking and retention of all team resources • Responsible for all hiring, training, and performance management of employees within market. • Makes all hiring and termination decisions in collaboration with Human Resources • Directly coaches and trains all employees within the market to them in achieving individual performance goals. • Directly responsible for all retail operations within the assigned market • Builds morale and fosters a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
Minimum Education and/or Experience: • High School Diploma/GED required. • Bachelor's Degree preferred • 3-5 years in leadership of Field Operations, Multi Unit Management, Logistics, Fulfillment, or Specialty Retail Sales Requisite Abilities and/or Skills: • Proven record as a leader and multi-unit manager • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • High level of business acumen • Proven ability to train and develop subordinates • Flexibility to work weekends and travel 100% within assigned market • Must be proficient in G Suite and MS Office suite of products
Additional Job Requirements: • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing and moving items • Requires the ability to move around the store, assist customers and maneuver merchandise when necessary • Performs additional job duties as assigned • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds independently
