Job TitleLeader, Acceptance Development<<Overview>>
The objective of Acceptance is to develop untapped markets to increase acceptance of electronic payments through MasterCard innovative products & solutions with new customers.
This person has the responsibility to expand MasterCard acceptance footprint in new categories as well as current; develop new and non-traditional channels and build the digital acceptance footprint as well as generating preference at acceptance locations through value added services to accelerate growth of MasterCard products & services and business in the Argentina and Uruguay markets.
This person will develop a pipeline of new players in the payment industry value chain, developing the relationship with these new players.
Build and execute an Acceptance Market Plan to enter into new untapped markets merchant categories and other customers and channels
Identify business opportunities to increase volume and share. Implement both short and long term strategies and tactics to increase profitability.
Leverage all MasterCard assets and product management resources to deliver exceptional merchant/acquirer value.
Lead business development activities in support of strategic opportunities to expand MasterCard business in under developed segments and/or cash only segments
Understand market trends to determine impact to business segment and develop opportunities that hold the best potential for future business growth with strategic merchant partners.
Generate long term commercial alliances with strategic payment players to expand acceptance that create a positive impact on incremental revenue.
Perform analysis of market information and competitive intelligence and identify broad business initiatives that provide an appreciable return on financial investments. Build strong business cases including financial analysis to generate positive impacts in card-holders attrition reduction, incremental card activation rates and new revenue streams for MasterCard through merchant/acquirer programs.
Ensure timely submission of regular reporting that details business development activities.
Develop deeper and productive relationships with key payment industry players both merchants to provide value-add and benefits to all participants.
Analyze and improve customer operational performance and profitability through reviews, training and communication of operational enhancements
Ensure the coordination of all operational activities including project assignments, problem resolution and reporting.
Work effectively with other functional areas throughout the organization to harness resources and effect change/accomplishments through collaboration, influence management and emotional intelligence.

Knowledge of payments industry, issuing, acquiring, merchant and digital business activities
Knowledge in sales and negotiation and relationship management
Excellent analytical skills (e.g., cards P&L analysis, financial forecasting, competitive analysis)
Experience in business, market, financial analysis and project management
Interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
English and Spanish oral and written communication skills, Portuguese would be a plus
Solution development skills and effective working both independently and in a team environment
Results-oriented and customer-focused
Ability to understand and execute on key operational aspects, and attentive to details;
Excellent problem solving, analytic capabilities and business acumen;
