Here's where you come in:  


We are currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our Technical Services National Platform Division. At McKinstry,  commissioning  has emerged as an essential part of project delivery and a preferred method for ensuring that building systems are installed and operated to provide maximum performance. Our  Technical Services  suite of owner-direct offerings helps our clients make good decisions that will improve efficiency, lower operating costs, and perform maximum comfort and lifespan of a building.   


In this position, you will perform commissioning activities on a variety of systems to verify compliance to engineering specifications. You will develop, manage, and coordinate project specific commissioning plans - reviewing and verifying system installation, functional performance, and control system operations. It is your knowledge and innovational mindset surrounding design, system enhancement, and system maintainability that will drastically impact our efforts to enhance building performance, health, sustainability, and reduce energy consumption.

What we would like to see from you:

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Commissioning Technician.  
  • Three (3) years of experience operating HVAC test equipment required. 
  • BA/BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent work experience required.  
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems required. 
  • Working knowledge of control systems required. 
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents (mechanical drawings, specifications, etc.) required. 
  • Basic understanding of other building systems (fire/life safety, plumbing, lighting, security) required. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
