Responsible for collating, updating, and analyzing data used to inform our store real estate investment strategy across our group formats. The analyst will play a key role in understanding and interpreting data to inform strategic decision on current and future store locations across Meijer formats and geographies.
The real estate analytics function is key to our understanding of the relationships between retail supply and demand – how, where, and why consumers shop in the way and places they do – driving our growth through data-driven store investment decisions.


What You'll be Doing:

  • Design, build, and deliver real estate analyses using Alteryx and ESRI analytics solution
  • Manage the daily operations of the real estate analytics solution including responsibility for understanding the underlying workflows, statistical modelling, and data visualization outputs
  • Support the Real Estate Analytics manager in daily operations and preparation of materials for senior leadership
  • Participate in special projects/initiatives related to real estate analytics: innovate and implement large-scale quality improvements to processes and/or systems by conducting data analysis and making recommendations, troubleshooting technical issues, and refining processes and outputs
  • Liase with internal and external partners to manage ongoing data feeds and updates
  • Ensure data assets and structurs are logical, accurate, and robust for use in Alteryx and ESRI environments
  • Give attention to detail in order to spot inaccuracies in data and algorithms
  • Performance tune existing analytics tools, processes, and reports
  • Work with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in the implementation
  • Work with IT to ensure the RE analytics platform remains operational and connected to data sources across the business
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information to leadership
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of documents and data

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • 2+ years experience in spatial data, analytics, and mapping (i.e. using demographics, consumer spending, retail supply data, etc.) and statistical modelling (i.e. regression, ‘gravity', etc.)
  • Experience with the following software tools:
  • Essential: Alteryx, ESRI (or other GISI), Excel, PowerPoint
  • Desirable: Tableau/PowerBI (or other dashboarding tools), Alteryx certification (core or above)
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work on own initiative and ina team
