This position understands social media strategy and technology tools, and knows how to use them, how our customers may use them, what audiences will be impacted, what areas are critical in planning and executing solid social media communication to our customers. This role coordinates and executes, measures and reports effectiveness to Advertising/Marketing leadership in conjunction with the Sr. Digital Manager, and prepares for and participates in regular strategy meetings with collective groups and department project owners.


What You'll be Doing:

  • Take the lead in working with business areas to elevate our social media platforms, creative and strategy that involves developing RFPs to find a new vendors and implementations.
  • Take the lead on finding new ways to increase engagement, sharing and followers by closely tracking social media trends. 
  • Maintain social media technology insight to keep Meijer on the leading edge of technology usage.
  • Engage in social media curriculum to stay updated on best practices regarding tools and methodologies.
  • Work directly with eCommerce team to help them benefit from Meijer's social media endeavors.  
  • Maintain standards for expected ROI for using social media.
  • Work with Sr. Digital Manager to develop the communication and coordination processes for all social media initiatives.
  • Work closely with other teams to assure implementation of projects in line with corporate strategies.
  • Analyze execution of social media technology and initiatives.
  • Aid in identifying appropriate social media opportunities for specific areas, motivates and coordinates execution from concept through completion to analysis.
  • Develop and maintain successful working relationships with all areas of merchandising, marketing and advertising.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or Marketing and or Advertising or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of brand social media leadership/execution experience required.
  • 2-4 years of work experience in internet business.
  • Skills coordinating multiple large projects with groups of people.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Solid presentation background.
