Purpose Statement / Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

The Marketing Content Specialist is a shared position between Orange Coast Medical Center and Saddleback Medical Center. This position works closely with the entire marketing team in uploading content to our external Website. This includes resizing and uploading images, developing web copy for various care service lines, general hospital information, and updating physician profiles, credentials and bios online. The marketing content specialist will also share social media responsibilities at Orange Coast and at Saddleback, as needed, in addition to intranet posting through SharePoint for internal communications. The Marketing Content Specialist must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have experience in both Web writing and AP style journalistic writing. Candidate must also be able to learn new skills quickly, be technologically and digitally savvy, and be a self-starter.

Essential Job Outcomes

  • Writing and loading content to the Website (knowledge of Drupal CMS)
  • Optimizing Web content to build Web traffic to site (SEO)
  • Auditing hospital Web pages and keeping them up-to-date
  • Social media posting responsibilities – uploading and creating new content/ideas, scheduling posts - as needed
  • General graphic design ability (Proficient in Adobe Design Suite) – resizing images for Web, resizing files, creating social media templates in InDesign and assisting with Power Point presentations
  • Drafting copy for physician profile updates
  • Intranet posting assistance (Familiarity with SharePoint platform)
  • Other department duties, as assigned


Qualifications

Experience

  • Healthcare writing/marketing experience preferred.
  • Experience in Optimizing Web Content.
  • Experience with a CMS – Drupal CMS preferred.


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or other related field.
