Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic (EMT-B) respond to emergency calls to provide efficient and
immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and to transport the patient to a medical facility.
After receiving the call from the dispatcher, the EMT-B drives the ambulance to address or location given,
using the most expeditious route, depending on traffic and weather conditions. The EMT-B must observe
traffic ordinances and regulations concerning emergency vehicle operation. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Licensure: Current Oklahoma EMT and National Registry EMT licensure required.
Experience: New Graduate is eligible for this position.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required. ACLS, PALS and NRP certification must be obtained prior to working in areas that require applicable certification. All certifications must be maintained in a current status.
Other: Demonstrated excellent clinical competence, Ability to assess patient condition and work with treatment plans, interpersonal team-building, collaboration, negotiation, problem-solving, as well as spoken and written communication skills. Must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
Preferred Experience: six (6) months to one (1) year of experience with experience being for all ages preferred.
