Overview:

The 340B Contract Pharmacy Technician Specialist is responsible for auditing and verifying prescriptions filled during daily operation of our entity owned retail pharmacies and contract pharmacies qualify for and comply with the 340B pharmacy contract. The 340B Contract Pharmacy Technician Specialist must be able to work independently to support the Mercy Ministry in contract pharmacy compliance related to 340B. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values/charism, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam
  • Licensure: Current State Technician license in good standing
  • Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required, Retail pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 1 year of hire


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Auditing of records to meet regulations is a key element. Application of regulations to operations to maintain a compliant program is a critical element of this role.
  • Inquisitive by nature and applies that to work ethic in auditing.
  • Good communication skills and ability to speak in small groups is required.
  • Excel advanced skills to manipulate data and build pivot tables, formulas, v-lookup, etc.
  • Demonstrates mastery of all pharmacy prescription adjudication, copay assistance, financial assistance, Point of Sale, ordering, and inventory management as appropriate for job role.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and use of all software; third party contract pharmacy software, EHR, Credentialing Software, Apexus Prime Vendor, HRSA OPAIS
  • Demonstrates proficiency with utilization of electronic health record, electronic communication application and other pharmacy information software.
  • Demonstrated competence to train and orient new co-workers.
