Perform direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, basic and advanced life support according to the goals of Mercy Hospital Health systems, the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy Standards of Care and Employee Code of Conduct. Field Training Officers (FTOs) also perform clerical, maintenance duties and act as preceptors of EMT and Paramedic students. Also supervise EMTS and Paramedics in daily routine and pre-hospital care setting. FTOs make operational decisions in the absence of EMS Manager or Operations Supervisors and instruct EMT and Paramedic on inservice, education, and driving. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his/her responsibilities and integrate into his/her style of management the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life, and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he/she has responsibility. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details:

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED, EMT-P (Paramedic) License
Licensure: State of practice EMT-P license, ACLS & PALS, and PHTLS provider (within 90 days of employment), 12 Lead Interpretation Course, Hazmat awareness level training. state of practice Class D driver's license.
Experience: Applicants must be at least 20 years of age to operate Mercy EMS vehicles.
Certifications: State of practice EMT-P (Paramedic) license BLS, ACLS and PALS: American Heart Association
Other: May be required to work differing shifts, schedules, and call back

Physical Requirements:
•    Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
•    Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
•    Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
