Director of Nursing, Behavioral Health

Overview:

On the Mercy South campus, in the Hyland Behavioral Health building, you will be responsible for overseeing a 74 bed Behavioral Health inpatient facility with 4 units specializing in geriatrics, adolescents, and adults. We have a robust ECT program that operates 4 days a week and a Long-Acting Injection Clinic in the building. We have a great multidisciplinary team of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Case Manager, Pharmacists, Techs, and Security. We are a large department of over 150 caregivers. The director is responsible for overseeing operations to ensure that patient care needs are met, excellence in care is delivered, and caregivers are supported in their work. The nursing manager, nurse clinician, operations assistant report directly to the director plus additional caregivers as determined at the department level.


Qualifications:

  • Education: BSN Graduate of an approved College of Nursing. Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration or related field, or plan for completion within a specific period of time.
  • Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Experience: Previous experience of 2-4 years of a Nurse Manager in a hospital of comparable size and/or accountability. Capable of working cooperatively with other executives, physicians and co-workers in order to accomplish goals. Able to communicate effectively in writing and orally and able to coordinate and integrate the complexities of patient care
