As part of Mercy's shared services leadership team, the Vice President of Supply Chain is responsible for the effective development and management of the Supply Chain for Mercy. This position administers and directs Mercy's ministry-wide Supply Chain program to ensure best practice supply chain strategies are fully deployed and utilized throughout in concert with HealthTrust (Mercy's contracted supply chain partner and GPO). The VP of Supply Chain will lead all supply chain processes by following the clinical, operational and financial guidelines of Mercy. Leads an integrated approach to product and services needs determination, purchasing, inventory management, logistics and related supply chain activities.
Effective 2019, Mercy has chosen to operate supply chain operations through an agreement with HealthTrust for Group Purchasing and the operations support previously provided through a wholly-owned supply chain organization (ROI). The VP Supply Chain will manage the outsourced supply chain contract with HealthTrust to ensure focus and effective operation of the Mercy-wide Supply Chain. The VP supports strategic initiatives by developing relationships with key members of senior leadership teams in all communities and external supply chain partners in a manner that achieves 100% customer satisfaction. All duties and responsibilities of this position will be performed in a manner which reflects Mercy's core values.
The VP of Supply Chain will participate as an active member of the Mercy Management Team to ensure Supply Chain objectives are in sync with other Mercy activities including strategic development, resource allocation, and project prioritization, savings goals and ensures that HealthTrust is aware of same. In addition, the VP will be responsible for providing Mercy's voice in the HealthTrust National contracting process and communicate GPO and local contracting decisions within Mercy's operations leadership and clinical teams.
This position will also work very closely with the HealthTrust designated executive assigned to Mercy, Mercy's Chief Nursing Officer, other key clinical leaders, and the leaders of Mercy's Performance Divisions as it relates to operational needs and service line areas of focus. Position Details:
Education: Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in Supply Chain required.
7+ years of experience in a Leadership Role in a large system or organization required
