General Summary of Position:
Maintains the cleanliness of the OR, transport patients to and from the OR, assists with designated inventory, receiving and storage functions and maintains supply levels of designated basic items in appropriate areas of the department. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.
Education and or Training Required
- High School graduate or the equivalent (GED).
- One year experience in a hospital setting in a similar position or as a Nursing Assistant or in Central Sterile Supply or Environmental Services preferred.
- Very organized; must be able to read and write and know basic math.
- Able to work quickly and accurately.
- Reliable and able to follow detailed instructions.
- Able to work under stress and remain calm in emergency situations.
- Communication skills required to interact with patients and all levels of staff.
