Purpose of Role


The Mgr Tax Accounting Global will support the Company's global US GAAP income tax accounting and reporting. The position will assist with the Company's reporting of income taxes and related disclosures for annual and interim reporting periods as well as forecasts for management. The Manager, Tax Accounting will also provide technical expertise in tax accounting matters and be responsible for obtaining pertinent data, financials or business facts and analyzing for proper tax accounting treatment. The position includes responsibilities related to various global processes and maintaining tax accounting and reporting controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards. Finally, the Mgr Tax Accounting Global will support our technology systems around tax accounting, namely OneSource Tax Provision (OTP) as well as SharePoint.


The individual will contribute to ensuring the delivery of complete and accurate tax accounting calculations in a timely manner, including income tax expense, deferred taxes, current taxes payable and liabilities for uncertain tax positions. This position will work closely with other finance functions such as financial planning & analysis, consolidations, corporate accounting and other areas of global tax as well as regional finance teams.

Main Responsibilities
  • Review of local tax accounting submissions, including ETR forecasts, annual tax provision computations, tax return true-ups, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowance analysis and tax account analytics
  • Manage and administer local tax accounting submissions within OTP
  • Provide US GAAP tax accounting guidance to local tax and finance teams
  • Ensure compliance with tax accounting controls and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Assist with the tax accounting implications of significant transactions, tax planning projects and pending legislation.
  • Assist global and regional tax accounting teams to enhance and simplify tax accounting processes to efficiently support tax planning and other finance functions
  • Manipulation and critical analysis of large quantities of data
  • Assist in the preparation of various interim and annual financial statement disclosures, including gathering, reviewing and maintaining proper supporting documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred
  • Big Four public accounting experience in tax strongly preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience preparing and/or reviewing US GAAP income tax provisions
  • 2 or more years of experience as administrator and/or advanced user of tax accounting submissions in OTP for a multinational company
  • SharePoint advanced user preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced Excel capabilities to work with large quantities of data
  • Critical thinking and data analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to challenge tax colleagues on technical matters and support positions taken based on tax knowledge and application of ASC 740 tax accounting principles
  • Technical knowledge of US and international tax principles preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in complex situations with tight deadlines while delivering high quality work product
  • Adaptable, able to respond to rapidly changing environment
  • Must be able to team with other finance functions (global, regional, and local teams in: FP&A, Accounting & External Reporting, and Global Tax)
  • Sound judgment and decision-making; comfortable making decisions in ambiguous situations
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
