The Pharmacist in the Pharmacy Department performs professional pharmaceutical work in compounding and dispensing prescriptions and drugs; maintain pharmacy records and documents; and perform related work as required.
The Pharmacist in Information Systemsis responsible for the ongoing support, process analysis, design, implementation and upgrades of clinical information systems in coordination with clinical staff to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and the medication-use process; specializes in the process, from ordering to administration, and is responsible and performs other related work as required.
- Dispenses drugs and pharmaceutical preparations to inpatients, outpatients, clinics and unit personnel.
- Reviews completed prescription orders for proper identification and coding, including signature of authorizing physician, order appropriateness, and optimal use of medications; therapeutic drug monitoring.
- Compounds prescriptions, drugs and pharmaceutical prescriptions
- Answer drug information questions from patients, physicians and nurses.
License/Certification: Possession of a valid CA Pharmacist License or another state with the ability to obtain a CA License prior to employment, and an ACLS Certification.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Will have the following knowledge, skills & abilities
Working knowledge of: Drugs, chemicals, poisons and pharmaceutical supplies; proper procedures involved in compounding and dispensing prescriptions and pharmaceutical preparations; Federal and State laws related to the dispensing and use of narcotics, poisons and drugs.
Skill and Ability to: Compound prescriptions and stock pharmaceutical preparations; maintain accurate records regarding prescriptions orders and stock inventory; prepare clear and concise reports; provide excellent courteous customer services; and establish and maintain effective working relations with hospital personnel, patients, the public and others contacted during the course of work.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Natividad requires that all incumbents pass a pre-employment physical/medical assessment and background check. Incumbents may be exposed to potentially infectious respiratory secretions and bodily fluids.

If you are hired into this classification in a Per-diem position, your salary will be hourly and you will not be eligible fo the benefits listed above.The Pharmacist Per-diem salary rate is $66.301 - $90.501 per hour.
