Maintenance Compliance Engineer (Water Treatment)

Job Summary

The Maintenance Compliance Engineer is responsible for reviewing and maintaining applicable equipment maintenance compliance for all Niagara plants. This engineer is also responsible for liaising with plant contacts and associated vendors to ensure KPI compliance, optimized TCO and R&M, and process monitoring metrics compliance.

Detailed Description

  • Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program Management:
    • Assist with development of applicable equipment PM
    • Evaluate existing PM and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Evaluate plant team members maintenance skill-gap to ensure foundational knowledge onsite and coordinate appropriate training events as needed
    • Implement plant maintenance SOPs
    • Assist with applicable equipment startup
  • Compliance Audits:
    • Assessment of each plant's applicable equipment maintenance compliance
    • Evaluate non-conformances and develop actions of resolution by partnering with plant team members
  • Data Analytics:
    • Regularly report on applicable equipment KPIs and notable operation metrics
    • Continually evaluate applicable equipment process monitoring metrics including, but not limited to:
      • Efficiencies, Availability, Reliability, Downtime, etc.
    • Assist plants in troubleshooting of Water processing systems
      • Identify and justify long terms solutions where applicable
    • Review plant performance metrics for reverse osmosis and process water equipment
      • Provide direction to plants on actionable data
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Assist with the evaluation of applicable equipment upgrade and retrofit project management
    • Conduct project ROI and equipment TCO analytics to promote sustainable cost optimization
    • Provide technical support for plants going through start up
  • Vendor Management:
    • Review applicable equipment vendor process performance
    • Conduct regular (i.e. quarterly) vendor performance meetings
    • Assist with cost and performance analysis of vendors for startup and existing plant quotation and vendor selection processes
  • Maintenance Compliance Engineer is estimated to travel 40-75%

  • Proficiency in, but not limited to:
    • Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects, Visio, etc.
  • Preferred previous experience in water treatment
    • Reverse Osmosis operation and data interpretation
    • Cooling Tower and closed loop treatment
    • Ozonation
  • Problem Solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and translates data into recommendable actions to senior staff
  • Planning/Organizing - uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives; organizes or schedules other people and their tasks. Able to execute tasks in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment
  • Detail oriented and accurate - minimizes mistakes, follows every step in a process and follows through with all tasks
  • Team Work - balances team and individual responsibilities; contributes to building a positive team spirit; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives. Exercise sound judgment and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce
  • Oral Communication - speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; demonstrates presentation skills.
  • Written Communication - writes clearly and informatively; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information Able to translate data into recommendable actions to senior staff.
  • Individual Initiative - Self-motivated with a proven record of taking the initiative. Able to work with minimal supervision and able to execute tasks in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment.

    • Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering
