The ASL Interpreter will provide American Sign Language interpreting services for all settings of the organization, bridging communication between healthcare staff and the deaf community. This position is a casual position with varied hours each week, as interpreting needs arise. This position will serve as an Independent Contractor with Northfield Hospital + Clinics.# Responsibilities Serve as an interpreter between Northfield Hospital # Clinics personnel and deaf or hard-of-hearing patients and families to facilitate access to care. Interpreting may be needed at any of our clinics in Northfield, Farmington, Lakeville, Kenyon or Lonsdale as well as at the Hospital in Northfield. Schedule: This position will be contacted as we are aware of patient#s needing an ASL interpreter. Typically with at least a days notice. Hours will vary each week Additional hours on weekends and evenings, on short notice, may be available if the candidate is interested Qualifications College degree or college level Interpreter Training Program Fluency in English and American Sign Language Two years of#work experience as an ASL interpreter; healthcare interpreting experience preferred Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification or Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) certification Northfield Hospital # Clinics is an independent organization with over 800 employees.
