Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Reviewing and evaluating ultrasonic images for subsequent evaluation and treatment by the attending physician
  • Operating ultrasound imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes
  • Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in apply ultrasound techniques for diagnosis
  • Responsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound procedures
  • Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with proper patient identification obtained prior to the procedure

Key qualifications to be considered for this include:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic sciences or ultrasound technology program
  • Current ARDMS/CCI certified or graduate of a program accredited by an agency recognized by CHEA, USDOE, or CMA that specifically conducts programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology and eligible for registry
  • Registered vascular technologist (RVT) within 90 days of employment
  • Current American Heart association BLS certification
