Description

The Assistant Category Manager - Out Front will assist Out Front Merchandise ("OFM") Product Managers in maximizing the profitability of all O'Reilly OFM product lines. This will include involvement in product selection, plano-gramming, advertising, marketing, inventory levels, warranty, and returns. They will also assist with setting objectives necessary for continued profitable growth of O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Essential Job Functions 

  • Assist OFM Product Managers with line analysis. 
  • Assist OFM Product Managers with creating ad schedules including content, pricing and length of promotion. Determine if additional inventory is needed to support the promotion. Complete ongoing and historical ad/promotion performance analysis to be used in future ad creation. 
  • Perform constant and thorough competitor research. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact for stores, vendors, and other corporate departments as it relates to product management.  Interact with and build relationships with all teams and departments affecting the flow of goods. 
  • Manage specific product lines under the review of the OFM Product Manager or Director.

Skills and Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree desired. 
  • Five years in Automotive Aftermarket with sales or purchasing background. 
  • Self-motivated to high level of achievement, team player, excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and excellent mathematical skills. 
  • Understands win/win negotiating and willing to commit to self-study and group study negotiating technique education. 
  • Willing to commit to extensive product training.
