The Enterprise Architect will play a key role in the digital transformation of Pacific Life by defining the technical architectures that will enable Pacific Life to provide enhanced customer experiences, make data-driven decisions and increase operational excellence. This role will reside in the Office of the CTO and will have enterprise-wide scope.
The Enterprise Architect is expected to be the Pacific Life subject matter expert that will help business and IT leaders understand the technology, business and operational implications of technology investment decisions related to Pacific Life's digital transformation.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
•Set the technical strategy for Pacific Life's digital transformation program
•Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions for Pacific Life's digital transformation program. Present to stakeholders how architectural options will meet their needs.
•Be the key technical decision maker for Pacific Life's digital transformation program
•Provide digital business model consulting, architecture design and development guidance to architects and developers across the enterprise to ensure designs and resulting applications align with divisional and Pacific Life strategies and position Pacific Life well within the industry.
•Monitor and analyze industry, technology and market trends to determine their potential impact for Pacific Life
•Incubate new technologies within Pacific Life and plan how selected technologies should be implemented
•Provide input to portfolio management and technology roadmaps by recommending initiatives that balance tactical opportunities and strategic needs to close the gap between current and future state
FACTROS FOR SUCCESS
•15+ years of experience in a senior IT architecture role
•5-10 years of experience in insurance/financial services industry is a plus
•Demonstratable experience in being the lead architect in a large digital transformation program
•Demonstratable experience in developing strategic technology plans and roadmaps including business capability planning
•In depth expertise in architectural frameworks and patterns for: Non-functional requirements, integration, automation, cloud, CX and data
•Demonstratable technology skills across multiple IT domains including software development, infrastructure and security
•Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical material to diverse audiences ranging from senior management to application developers
•Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills
•Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and develop technical skills of staff
•Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field
